Work Starts on RM6 Billion Mid Valley Southkey Megamall
Johor Bahru, 21st October 2013 - Construction has begun on one of the most eagerly awaited property development within Iskandar Malaysia - the RM6 billion integrated Mid Valley Southkey Megamall project here.
To be developed over 12 years, the focal point of the development will be a megamall offering a net lettable area (NLA) of 2.5 million sq. ft, which will be undertaken in two phases. Phase 1, comprising a NAL of 1.5 million sq. fts will be completed by late 2016.
The commencement of construction works ceremony for the megamall was launched here today by Southkey Megamall Sdn Bhd - a 70:30 joint-venture between IGB Corp Bhd and Selia Pantai Sdn Bhd.
IGB Group managing director Dato' Seri Robert Tan and Selia Pantai founder and managing director Datuk Mohamed Zaini Amran both officiated at the ceremony here today.
"It took us 15 years to get Mid Valley City in KL to what it is today. Hopefully, it will take us only half that time to materialize this in Johor, " said Tan.
